Local Torch Runs Lead up to Final Leg
Five Communities to Host Events Ahead of state summer games

Local Torch Runs have always helped the the organization and Special Olympics kick off the spring and led into the Final Leg to the State Summer Games. Local runs also give local Law Enforcement Agencies a chance to show their pride in their support of Special Olympics.

Five local runs will be held this year throughout the state, with the last being a truly unique event. The runs kick off on May 17 with the annual Daviess County Torch Run. The next event will be May 26 in Kenton County with a run in Grant County the next day. June 1 is the date of the Elizabethtown/Hardin County Torch Run. Finally, on June 3, Jose Wilkie will get the Final Leg an early start with the Flame of Hope Run that will travel from Louisville to Frankfort.
